Primus

Primus is an American band formed in 1984 in California, led by bassist and vocalist Les Claypool. Their style blends funk, alternative metal and experimental rock, with virtuosic and percussive use of electric bass. Emerging in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the eccentric and surreal writing of the lyrics, combined with irregular rhythmic structures, made the group instantly recognizable. They remain one of the most original entities in American alternative rock.
